Browsing and saved places

You do not need an account to browse. Saving a place stores its ID, name and link in this browser’s local storage. That shortlist is not sent to our server. Remove places individually or clear your browser’s site data to delete it.

Correction reports

If you submit a correction, we store its text, topic, place ID and submission time so an editor can investigate. Please do not include personal or payment information. A session cookie protects forms against misuse. We also use a keyed, non-public representation of your network address to limit repeated submissions; the raw address is not stored in the correction ledger.

Scheduled cleanup removes resolved reports after 30 days, unresolved reports after 180 days, and the submission rate-limit identifier after 24 hours. Source facts and their editorial change history are retained to explain the information we publish. Contact us if you need a submitted report removed; include the place and approximate submission date.

Business submissions and visit reports

Business proposals contain the contact email, venue details, sources and any photo permission statement you supply. Contact details and management credentials are private. A management key lets you edit a proposal; it does not prove authority over a business. The key is stored as a hash in the proposal record, and a temporary management session lasts 30 minutes.

Pending proposals and visit reports are removed after 180 days, rejected or reviewed reports after 30 days, and approved business proposals after 365 days without an update, when maintenance runs. Approved source facts and editorial history are retained. Submission rate-limit records expire after one hour and network identifiers are removed from submissions after 24 hours during cleanup.

The comparison shortlist stays in this browser until you open the comparison page. Opening it sends the selected place IDs in the page address so the server can return current information. Visit reports record the place, visit date, visit type, charging outcome and optional notes. Please do not include personal or payment information.

Service operation

The server may process your IP address, request time, requested address and browser information to deliver pages and diagnose failures. Application logs follow a 30-day cleanup schedule. This site does not use advertising trackers.

Maps and external links

When you open a map, your browser requests map tiles from OpenStreetMap. The tile provider receives the network information needed to serve that request. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy. Maps on place and search pages load only when opened; the map explorer loads them as its primary function.

Venue websites and directions services open only when you follow their links. Their own privacy policies apply, and any booking is handled by that provider.

Requests about your data

You can contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you have submitted, or to object to its processing. You may also contact your data protection authority. Essential processing for site operation, security and reviewing corrections serves our legitimate interest in providing a reliable directory.
